Happy Hanukkah from TwinStar

Hanukkah commemorates the recovery of Jerusalem and dedication of the Second Temple — and is observed annually for eight days and nights. This year, Hanukkah begins Thursday, December 7 and ends Friday, December 15.

The most common and well-known way that people observe Hanukkah is through the lighting of candles. Each night of Hanukkah, a candle is lit, all of which sit on a menorah holding nine candles. The ninth candle, which usually sits above or below the others, is used to light the eight remaining candles.

Other popular Hanukkah celebrations include singing Hanukkah songs, playing dreidel, and eating oil-based foods such as latkes and sufganiyot.

We want to wish all of our TwinStar Credit Union members and employees who celebrate Hanukkah a wonderful holiday.
