  • When you are no longer our member, we continue to share your information as described in this notice.

How does TwinStar Credit Union protect my personal information?

Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only

  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes—information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

Definitions

Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Our affiliates include companies providing data processing, auditing, compliance and financial services.

Nonaffiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Non-affiliates may receive private information about you if the information is necessary to perform a service on your account. You cannot opt out of sharing for that information.

Joint marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

  • We jointly market credit insurance products providing payment protection for loan accounts you have at TwinStar Credit Union.
