Local Scholarships for Local Students

Scholarship applications open on February 1st and close on March 15th, 2025. 

Are you planning to attend an institution of higher education in Fall 2025? The TwinStar Community Foundation wants to help you out during your journey.

We invite you to apply for one of our 2025 higher education scholarships! We are awarding up to forty-four $2,000 scholarships to members who plan to attend an institution of higher education in Fall 2025. In addition to our forty-four $2,000 scholarships to high school seniors AND continuing education students, we also have four specialty legacy scholarships for members of TwinStar and Northwest Community Credit Union. Students are eligible to apply and potentially receive a scholarship every year of their continuing education post-high school. We'll begin accepting applications on February 1st. The application deadline is March 15th, 2025.

Please note that for the 2025 scholarship year, we are continuing to combine our previously separated high school scholarships and higher education scholarships into one application and selection process. The application period opens February 1 and runs through March 15, 2025. 

Legacy Scholarships

• Larry Levine Scholarship - $3,500
  The awardee must be a Douglas County, OR resident attending Umpqua Community College.
• Dewey Noblitt Scholarship - $2,000 
  The awardee must be a graduating senior from Olympia High School.
• Jack Jutte Scholarship - $2,000 
  The awardee must be a graduating senior from Tenino High School.
• JoAnne Sanford Vocational School - $2,000 
  The awardee must be enrolled in a vocational school, or a trade program at a community college.

Scholarships will be awarded to recipients in May or June.

Eligibility Requirements:

The application period runs from February 1st to March 15th, 2025. Eligibility requirements include:

• Applicants must be members in good standing with TwinStar or Northwest Community Credit Union.
• Applicants must attach proof of enrollment in an institution of higher education. The most commonly accepted forms are a copy of an acceptance letter or registration documentation.
• Applicants must attach a copy of their most recent transcript in the form of a high school transcript or higher education transcript. Unofficial transcripts are accepted.
• Applicants must attach a letter of recommendation from a non-family member.
• Applicants may earn an "extra credit" point in the scoring by completing one financial course from MoneyEDU. When you submit your scholarship application, you will be asked for your completion certificate code. This is not a requirement to receive a scholarship.
