That’s why the TwinStar Community Foundation is excited to announce that it has donated $100,000 to TOGETHER!, a local nonprofit organization that provides services and programs aimed at helping youth feel valued, supported, safe, and healthy. It's the largest donation that the TwinStar Community Foundation has given to TOGETHER!
All the $100,000 donation will go toward funding TOGETHER!’s Club House program at Lydia Hawk and Pleasant Glade elementary schools during the 2024-25 school year. Club House offers homework help, interactive enrichment activities, and a safe place to hang out with their peers for students at these schools.
Amanda Stevens, TwinStar Community Foundation and Education Development Manager, has taught financial literacy to students in the Club House program for the past three years. She said that the foundation is proud to support the longstanding program.
TOGETHER! has been an integral part of education in the Thurston community, and their Club House program has been going strong for 10 years," Stevens said. “With this donation, we are ensuring that families continue to receive the same benefits next school year that they have benefited from previously for so long. We are proud to partner with TOGETHER!
Club House also coordinates with families to provide program materials, school supplies, books, resources, and even emergency assistance if needed.
"TOGETHER! is deeply grateful to TwinStar Community Foundation for their incredible support of our Club House after school program during a time of need," said TOGETHER! Deputy Director Meghan Sullivan. "With TwinStar's support, we are well on our way to ensuring hundreds of students and families have access to high quality after school programs in Lydia Hawk and Pleasant Glade elementary schools in the year ahead."
Founded in 1989 and based in Thurston County, TOGETHER! serves South Sound area youth and their families. Its mission is to advance the health and well-being of all young people. As of May 2024, TOGETHER! has served more than 3,600 families.
TOGETHER! also aims to mobilize communities through coalitions, advocate for healthier laws, norms and systems, and promote health through individual and community education.
TwinStar is proud to be a longtime supporter of TOGETHER! For the 2023-24 school year, the TwinStar Community Foundation donated $5,000 to help provide snacks for the Club House program.
