TwinStar's History of Giving

Everyone benefits from living in healthy, robust communities. That’s why TwinStar Credit Union believes strongly in giving back to the people, organizations, and communities that we serve every day. 

In 2022, TwinStar and the TwinStar Community Foundation donated a combined $778,416 to local charities and organizations. Our employees also volunteered hundreds of hours to support many of these nonprofits.  

Throughout 85 years of serving Western Washington, TwinStar has a dedicated history of investing in its communities. In fact, one of the core values that drive all of us here at TwinStar is community: 

“We take pride in our member communities and serve them with volunteer and charitable support.”

True to our educational roots (TwinStar was started by a teacher after all), we have focused a lot on supporting local K-12 students and schools. Some of the ways we continue to support this mission include:

  • Scholarships for high school students, higher education students, and classroom grants for teachers.

  • Youth Financial Literacy Programs that helps boost students’ financial knowledge.

  • Paying of lunch debts for K-12th grade students. Learn more about the Foundation's recent donation of $55,000.

In addition to education, TwinStar is committed to helping local organizations and programs that support the following causes: Youth & families, food insecurity, health & wellness, housing, senior services, arts & culture, and diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI).

We have donated to a variety of organizations including United Way of Thurston and Lewis Counties, Community Youth Services, Arc of Southwest Washington, Washington Center, several local community college foundations, and many more. And every year, hundreds of adults and teenagers enroll in MoneyEdu, TwinStar’s financial wellness program, to increase their financial knowledge and well-being. Strong financial well-being can lead to more thriving communities.
